Summer works at the intersection of climate, communities and food systems at The Red Cross, with a strong focus on resilience and practical impact. In her role as Climate Adaptation and Resilience Manager, she helps embed climate-informed thinking into crisis response, translating complex risks into action that supports people on the ground.

With experience spanning policy, sustainable agriculture and food systems, Summer is particularly motivated by farmer-led learning and ensuring adaptation strategies are shaped by lived experience. Looking ahead, she hopes to work more closely with farmers and rural communities, deepening the link between climate resilience, soil health and regenerative systems, while bridging research and real-world practice to support a more resilient future for rural livelihoods.
