Dan Smith
Built on strong foundations from a farming upbringing in the UK, I have a soil-up understanding of the complexities facing rural and environmental industries alongside global social challenges. I have developed a highly effective combination of skills that can cultivate change for people, land, and the environment. I am a Farm Manager running a commercial, net zero livestock farm for the benefit of underprivileged young people as well as the environment. I have a broad knowledge base in regenerative agricultural practices, holistic management, and environmental issues. I also facilitate therapeutic interventions supporting those from diverse backgrounds and champion people who need extra support.

Study Overview
My Study title is "Generation Regeneration We need You". There is a change happening in the agriculture sector, I believe now is the time to cultivate new interest for our industry and maximise the quality of recruitment to secure an innovative, progressive and stable future. I would like to show there is a way to encourage new entrants, attract young people from diverse backgrounds and keep the current capable workforce. I see the contextual stressors we are facing: environmental, community perceptions, changing policies, not as issues, but as challenges that can be solved. I will be exploring where apprenticeships schemes, organisations and individuals are facilitating this successfully with the aim to empower farmers, educators and land managers into a brighter future.
