Alastair and Margaret Miller Charitable Trust

The Alastair and Margaret Miller Charitable was set up in 2017 for the benefit or furtherance of many purposes with an emphasis in Scotland. Alastair Miller, FRAgs, NSch, b. 1937, was a farmer in East Lothian, he studied agriculture at Edinburgh University and went on to study at Master degree at Purdue University, USA. He was a Nuffield Scholar in 1974, his subject ‘The Production, Processing & Marketing of Vegetables, with particular reference to freezing and marketing the frozen product’. He went on to set up a successful frozen vegetable business in the Scottish Borders as well as run a successful family farm, along with his wife Margaret, and believed the Nuffield Scholarship played an important role in his farming career. Alastair Miller passed away in 2021.
