2021 Nuffield Farming Conference Awards

Up first was the 2021 Steven and Gillian Bullock Award, which was awarded to 2012 Scholar Caroline Millar. Caroline runs the luxury Hideaway Experience and acts as a consultant for other rural business looking to venture into agritourism. Recognising her as a champion of Scottish agritourism, judges highlighted Caroline’s decade of hard work and political lobbying, and her drive to develop the sector.

This year’s winner of the Nuffield Farming Frank Arden Leadership Award is 2013 Scholar and LEAF Chief Executive Caroline Drummond. A well-known figure in the industry, Caroline is passionate about encouraging sustainable farming practices and building public trust in agriculture.

From the 2019 cohort of Scholars, Dan Burdett won the 2021 HSBC Salver for the Best Report. Dan’s report explored the challenges and opportunities which come with moving towards regenerative agriculture.

Finally, winning this year’s John Stewart Shield for the Best Presentation was Vicky Robinson. This award was based on Vicky’s presentation on farmer-to-farmer knowledge exchange at the 2020 virtual conference.
