Longcliffe Quarries Ltd is an independent, family-owned company with a heritage of agricultural product development. For nearly 100 years, the company’s Derbyshire quarries have been a market-leading supplier of high purity calcium carbonates to the agricultural industry, including animal feed and high-quality agricultural lime.

Longcliffe produces and processes its agricultural lime on-site, from rock face to farm, reducing miles travelled and limiting the carbon footprint.

The company is investing heavily in the agricultural sector and is currently building a state-of-the-art plant to enable it to expand the range of agricultural lime and mineral products it offers to U.K. farmers. The recently launched Longcliffe Agricultural Products business ensures that resource and expertise are focussed on the agricultural sector to support farmers and help enhance soil quality.

The Longcliffe Agricultural Product Range includes:
•    A wide range of FEMAS accredited calcium carbonates for mineral pre-mixes, livestock and poultry feeds, as well as grades for equine and pet foods
•    SpHerical Granulated Lime* 
•    Agricultural Bulk Lime
•    Cubicle lime
•    Drainage stone and pipe bedding
•    Aggregates for concrete
•    Type 1 and 6F5 aggregates for sub-base
•    Decorative aggregates

*SpHerical Granulated Lime is one of the new products being developed as part of this expansion. SpHerical can be spread at any time of the year when ground conditions allow, will provide farmers with high purity lime to improve soil structure, increase calcium availability, optimise soil pH and enhance crop health and yield. It offers flexible administration, rapid absorption and increased fertiliser efficiency, leading to improved yields.
