Leprino Foods Company's journey began in Denver, Colorado in 1950 when Mike Leprino, Sr. started making mozzarella cheese for his family’s corner grocery store. Today, Leprino Foods Company is the world’s largest mozzarella cheese maker and a global leader in dairy products. Leprino Foods Ltd processes 20% of the milk produced daily, in Northern Ireland and Wales. Our NI and Welsh production sites are major local employers. In recent years, a factory has been commissioned in Portlaoise Republic of Ireland.

Leprino Foods is committed to providing world leading dairy ingredients of the highest quality, with outstanding levels of animal welfare and increasingly sustainable production. We work in partnership with our contracted farmers and long term cooperative suppliers to ensure we are producing better food for families and the environment. Our on-farm programmes with farmers focus on actions that improve their profitability, develop their skills and personal development as well as lowering the impact of production. Our farmers are working to remove challenging ingredients from diets, drive efficiency in their businesses, engage with the latest innovations and reduce inputs whilst benefitting our soils. Leprino Foods and our UK farmers have helped lower the footprint of UK production by over 14% in the last 3 years with the impact from milk production falling by 11%.
