A 2022 Nuffield farming scholar, Olivia is educated to PhD level and trained in the field of Public Health with experience and skills gained from working for government agencies, academia and industry over 25 years in Europe, North America and the UK. She is an inventor on four patents, a published author with an H index of 20, and a skilled communicator having given national and international talks, including a TedX talk. In 2015 Olivia commercialised her own academic research and founded two companies, one in the Agri Tech sector. In her role as CEO of two start up companies, she led on successful investment raises and grant applications. Olivia has worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence for the University of Exeter and Bristol SETSquared (the global number one spin out incubator) until joining the University of Bristol as Research Commercialisation Manager for Health and Life Sciences. This has provided her with deep and broad experience in governance and deals involving entrepreneurs, investors, funders, patent attorneys and industry partners across many sectors in Health and Life Sciences, including Agri Tech and veterinary. She is passionate about encouraging and supporting others, especially women working in male dominated sectors. Olivia is a mother of three children and in her free time she enjoys walking, yoga and travelling.
