Jim Davies
Jim has over 25 years' strategic communications experience within the agri-food sector, working across commercial, agency, and public body roles. Jim believes that clear communication and strong connections between people and ideas are key to driving innovation and lasting change in food and farming.
He has held senior roles including Head of Marketing and Communications at the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, where he led national campaigns to inform and engage farming audiences. At McCain Foods, he worked in the Global Agriculture team across North America, Europe, and the UK, driving digital transformation and embedding data-led decision-making into agricultural operations.
Jim specialises in turning complex challenges and technical information into clear, compelling narratives. He believes communication should not only inform, but connect people and accelerate learning to drive meaningful change.
He holds a BSc in Agriculture from Seale-Hayne and an MSc in Marketing and Leadership from Cranfield School of Management, where his thesis focused on the enablers and barriers to digital transformation in agri-businesses.
His deep-rooted farming connection stems from growing up on the Isle of Wight where his family had a sheep and timber business and has worked on farms in New Zealand and Australia. Jim recognises the value of clear, purposeful communication and now works as an independent communications consultant.
Based in Oxfordshire with his wife and two boys, Jim is a member of the Burford & District Farming Club and the Guild of Agricultural Journalists. Outside work, he’s an active runner, skier, motorcyclist, and minis and juniors' rugby coach.
