Three Counties Agricultural Society
The Three Counties Agricultural Society is a registered charity working for rural industry, the environment and countryside life, and is delighted to be sponsoring a Nuffield Scholar.
The Society is committed to serving the region’s many loyal farmers, growers, producers and horticulturists, and has a healthy membership. Through networking, it actively cultivates partnerships with the local and regional business community, and it’s also in the business of entertainment; providing an annual diary of vibrant, innovative events.
The Society has its roots in the rural communities of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire through the amalgamation of their respective agricultural societies – a relationship which first began in 1797. Its flagship event, The Royal Three Counties Show, is a celebration of the people, animals and activities which make up the very best of British food and farming and country living. It promotes agriculture, horticulture, arboriculture, apiculture, forestry, rural crafts and skills and conservation for the public benefit. Agriculture is at its core, and the country’s finest livestock, including many rare breeds, competes for a share of prize monies.
The event has remained dynamic and current, dedicated to the British food and farming industry and has a strong financial base. It has maintained its national place as an exhibition event for the top pedigree livestock, a showcase for countryside and environmental issues, a meeting place for national leaders in rural affairs and a unique opportunity for an educational interface between food producers and consumers.
