Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust

The Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust is a charity with clear objectives:

  • The annual sponsorship of Nuffield Farming scholars to improve the quality and health of livestock in Great Britain, by furthering research and disseminating the useful results of that research
  • Supporting new entrants to livestock farming
  • Developing their livestock enterprise
  • Furthering education in livestock breeding, animal husbandry and related subjects.

The charity makes grants and loans, including grants to those new to livestock farming and those developing their livestock enterprises. Dartington Cattle also give guarantees, awards and educational bursaries to approved degree level students in agriculture. Furthermore, they provide travelling scholarships, with preference given to applicants from the West of England.
