Jane Kenyon - Nuffield Scholar 1947

Welsh-born Jane Kenyon (nee Bennett-Evans) passed away in November at her own cottage hospital near Nanyuki, Kenya, having suffered ill health for several years.

She was one three Scholars to receive a Nuffield Farming Scholarship Award in 1947, when the Scholarship scheme was born.

Jane showed an amazing pioneering spirit throughout her life in the UK and in Kenya, and established a high standard for subsequent Scholars to follow. She will be sadly missed.
