Professor Peter Wilson CBE
Peter Wilson had a distinguished career in agricultural education and many of the people he influenced have reason to be grateful and have themselves gone on to contribute.
Peter was invited to join the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust Selection Committee in 1987. He served three terms of 3 years many of them with co-selectors Henry Fell and Eric Carter. They made a formidable panel as many will attest. Peter was always fair, but harsh on those seeking to bluff their way through the interview and protective to those who caught his sympathy. Sometimes it seemed it did no harm to be Scots!
Peter was also Chairman of the Frank Parkinson Trust and was instrumental in persuading his fellow Trustees, for a few years, to sponsor a Nuffield award in that name.
