NFST Board of Trustee opportunities
Are you interested in future of the NFST? Would you like to be involved and offer your services as a Trustee of the Board?
"The future of any charity is dependent for its success on suitably skilled and experienced individuals dedicating their time and energy to the future success of the organisation," explains NFST Chairman Jack Ward.
"We are looking for future officeholders and individuals who are willing to drive forward the interests of the Trust and ensure that Nuffield continues its long and valued contribution to the future success of the industry."
Vacancies
The Board membership consists of 10 Trust members (including the Chairman and Vice Chairman) and two external members. Each year there are three vacancies on the Nuffield Board as Trustees retire by rotation on completing three year terms of office.
One vacancy is for a Board member elected by the Annual Meeting of the Trust, a second is to represent the Study, Country and Regional Groups and the third is a representative of the Returning Scholars.
Eligibility
Any member of the Trust is eligible for election to the Board. All sponsors and subscribers to the Trust are also recognised as members and may participate in the management of the Trust through the Annual Meeting.
Those elected as Trustees must be eligible to serve as Company Directors and sign a Declaration of Willingness to serve as Charity Trustees.
"We are looking for people with an extensive knowledge of the industry, and skills in the following areas; company finance, corporate governance, PR and communications, fundraising, charity law, HR and personal development," points out Jack Ward.
Nominations
The Nominations Committee invites Scholars to put themselves forward as candidates for election. To assist the Committee shortlist candidates', all proposals should be made in writing on no more than one side of A4 paper.
Recommendation and submissions should state which of the skills listed by the Chairman (above) that candidates would contribute in managing the Trust.
All submissions MUST be received at the Nuffield office by 5pm on Tuesday, 31st August. 2010.
