A packed speaker programme at the 2011 Nuffield Conference saw the presentation of three celebrated Scholarship awards, as follows:
Bullock Award

F/L: Stephen Fell NSch, Ian Pigott NSch and Gill Bullock.
The Steven and Gill Bullock Award, which recognises Scholars who have best used learning from their Scholarship to develop businesses and careers, went to 2002 Scholar, Ian Pigott.
The judges for the 2011 award were LEAF Chairman Stephen Fell, who is past chairman of the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, the Rt Hon Michael Jack, past chairman of the House of Commons EFRA Committee and agricultural advisor to HSBC, and Farmers Weekly Editor, Jane King.
The Steven and Gill Bullock Award for Nuffield innovation is now in its fifth year and identifies scholars and entrepreneurs who have demonstrated a change in outlook and have applied their learning effectively in their career or business. Steven Bullock managed the Farmers Weekly farms from 1963 to 1988 and then became director of the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust.

John Stewart Shield

Adjudicators Emma Penny, Editor Farmers Guardian, and Dorothy Fairburn NSch with Best Presentation Award winner, Michael Blanche.
The award of the 'John Stewart Shield' for the 'Best Conference Presentation' went to Michael Blanche for his delivery of 'The farming ladder'.

HSBC/Farmers Guardian Silver Salver

Jack Ward NSch presents Jim Shanks with the Best Scholar Report award.
The HSBC/Farmers Guardian Silver Salver for the 'Best Scholar Report' submitted in 2010 went to Jim Shanks for his report on 'Energy from agriculture'.
